Olivia Snaps ~ Book Spines!

Good morning! I hope you have a lovely weekend ahead of you :3

Olivia Snaps is a meme where I share a little bit of my photography with you all. Today I am going to be sharing some more of my bookish pictures.

Here goes!

The reason I took this photo was for a tag where you showcased hardcovers without their dust jacket. I have read all these books now excepting Isla and the Happily Ever After!

This was for the bookish reflection tag! The previous picture was a failed attempt at that one, so I was lazy and did it with just one book. Plague is a book in one of my all time favourite series called Gone by Michael Grant. I read this one quite young and it creeped me out like crazy!

I took this photo after finishing this wonderful book. I should post my review sometime soon! It is was such a beautiful read.

Food and books, what more could you want? Mansfield Park is my all time favourite classic by Jane Austen because the romance was just lovely ^.^ Apple pie is also one of my favourite desserts too!

This was chapter one of the Spiderwick Chronicles. The illustrations are so wonderful in this book, I took the photo while I was fangirling about it. I didn't read these books as a child and I know I was missing out now :( I am glad I read them now as a childhood catch up!

That's all I have for you today! I will see you on Tuesday with a book review!

New Video! This was actually my video of last week but due to not being able to preschedule posts lately due to being short on time... I am adding this one here. For all those people who want to watch my book haul instead of read about it ^.^

Olivia's Question: Do you read hardcovers with the dustjacket on or off?

  1. That illustration on Spiderwick Chronicles is so beautiful! I haven't read the series but I saw the movie they did about them. It was fun but nothing too special so I never picked up the books Oops!! hahaha and your picture of Mansfiel Park made me wanna eat; I can't resist food on pictures LOL
And no, I don't read hardcovers with the dustjacket on. It's very annoying when it comes of while reading and also, I don't want to damage them so I leave them on my room and once I'm done with the book I put it on again :)

    1. And that is only one of all the beautiful designs that there are! I loved the movie which made me want to read the books. I really liked them. It makes me want to eat them as well - I think we shall be making more of those for tomorrow really :3

Likewise, I don't either. For the same reasons!

  3. Hi, Olivia - Like your pics! You know, about dustjackets, they make the book look nice, but reading with them on the book becomes a bit of a hassle. I usually remove them and keep them someplace safe while I'm reading.

  4. LOVE these pictures! You did such a great job! I adore the colors in the first one, they go so well together. As for dust jackets, OFF while reading. I kept one on once by accident and it got dented from my bookmark and then I almost cried ;) Also, I LOVE seeing what a book looks like underneath the jacket. That sounded creepier than it is I think ;) Thanks so much for sharing these!

    1. Thanks Shannon! That picture is my favourite one as well. DD: That sounds like a bad experience! ;) I know what you mean though, some books are gorgeous without them...

  6. Bookish spines can be so gorgeous. I love seeing what's under the dust jackets, and sometimes I can prefer a book without its jacket on! I actually removed Wonder's, because I disliked the cover but loved the cover underneath. And I agree with you AND Shannon! My favourite picture is the first one, for sure... despite my love for apple pies!

  7. Oh I like Olivia Snaps, this is nice! :D I'm so glad you like Mansfield Park!! I also love that one :) and apple pie! <3

I always read books with the jacket off, because I just know that, if I leave it on, the book is going to act like it's on a suicide mission and fall down and the jacket would be ruined after that. And that's just experience talking :)

  15. Great pics and to answer your question I usually keep the hardcover on unless it is a mega heavy hardback and if it is the cover usually comes off as it usually slips off!
