Nails Extravaganza ~ Snake Gradient

Hello everyone! Hope the weekend is treating you well!

Today I have a nails extravaganza post for you, where I share some of my nail designs with you.

This particular nail art design was my first attempt at gradient. I wasn't going for anything too complicated, and I didn't expect it to be completely smooth. Hopefully once I get some proper cosmetic spongers I can do more gradient designs and maybe some designs on top of them as well.

I call this "snake" because the yellow green combination has me thinking of snakes, and the polka dots on top seem to add to it all the more for some reason! You can watch a tutorial video for how to do gradient nail art and this design in particular below.

I also included how to clean nails once you've painted this. This is a handy hack needed for when doing gradient nail art, but it can come in handy if you are a messy nail painter in general. So there is something for everyone in there!

Olivia's Question: Do you like snakes?

  3. Hey Olivia! Your nails look very cool (going to watch your nail art tutorial on youtube now).

Growing up in South Africa I must say I really don't like snakes, I think it's because I am terrified of them! I can't wear anything that is even snake skinned patterned - just gives me the chills thinking about it!

    1. Thanks for watching the video as well! Oh, I think that does make a lot of sense. Maybe this isn't quite the design for you then D:

  4. No, SNAKES give me the chills!! The way they slither around gives me this uncontrollable visceral reaction that makes me want to bolt out of their vicinity by an infinite mile radius. I think your nail captures it so well. The colors are very true to a reptiles iridescent, scaly skin. Great techniques!

  6. Your nails look amazing <3 I actually really like snakes. I know when I lived in Mexico I would always see a lot of them and the colors of them were super pretty (but I would definitely never actually get close to a wild one, I'm not so sure that would end well haha)

Definitely going to try this design!

    1. Yes, I do need to keep away from wild snakes! I think we all should. But their colours intrigue me so much. Hope it works out for you <3

  8. I don't see how you do it! I would have polish everywhere trying to do these designs.

  14. Woow those look amazing! I really love the colors you chose.
I tried doing gradient nails once... I hated getting the sides of my nails dirty with the polish, haven't tried it again hahaha. But I think they always look so pretty! >.<

    1. It can be so annoying to get the side of the nails dirty, but in my tutorial I show you how to clean it up easily!

  15. This is awesome! I love how the dots are not black, that blue goes really well with the other colors.

    1. Black would have been too standard of a way out! It's a small difference, but I am glad someone appreciates it <3

  16. I absolutely suck at doing my own nails. I was such a tomboy when I was younger, and I didn't really get into makeup, nail polish, that sort of thing until I few years ago. I wish I could be as creative as you with my designs!

  17. It's amazing that you're able to do all that. My nail design skills is two coats of the same color.
